·Locs look great as they are, but babyyyyyyy when you add some perm rods and set overnight 👀
Here’s the tutorial, I got you!
What you need:
- Perm rods aka curling tools (size suggestion: purple or orange)… depending on how many locs you have, this may vary in the count needed
- Setting Foam aka a Mousse (this is a very lightweight styling product for curls and even a greater choice for locs)
- Continuous Mist Spray Bottle (for water so you can keep your hair hydrated while styling)
- Optional: Lightweight Hair Oil (to add shine and moisturize hair/scalp)
- Optional: 3-Way Doorframe Mirror (helps you see from all angles aka the back of your head and hooks on the back of any door
Steps:
- Wet hair using continuous mist bottle filled with water only
- Tie up majority of hair except for 1-2 locs, starting at the nape of your neck
- Add setting foam to section
- Starting from the bottom of your loc(s), wrap around the perm rod and then roll towards your roots
- Secure at the top as close to your root as comfortably possible
- Repeat steps 1-5 until all of your hair is styled and secured with perm rods
- Blow dry on medium-warm for ~10mins or sit under a hooded dryer for ~30-60mins if you have one
- Protect your hairstyle with a satin bonnet at night and sleep (sweet dreams!)
- In the morning (next day), apply a light oil to your hands and unravel the perm rods carefully and to avoid/reduce frizz
- Enjoy looking good! 🔥
