Alright Beauties, it seems a hot trend the girls are looking up is:

Now I'm not too sure why purple hair is trending, but I can't say I've seen it too often! Many 2022 predictions have been telling us that the pink aesthetic (mostly pastel pink) is what will make moves, but the data is speaking with purple hair trending with 316K global searches (138K of that traffic being searched just from the United states alone).

What is the purple hair trend?

The purple hair trend is simply having purple hair! There's a few different ways you can achieve purple hair and here's how...

Permanently Dye Hair Purple

If you're ready to go all-in and not afraid of using a little colour, try getting some purple hair dye! The best thing to do when using hair dye on your natural hair, is to try to choose one with the least amount of chemicals as possible (or hair dye that caters to thick hair).

We suggest sourcing out a reputable hair salon that knows how to work with black hair; a good way to find a black hair salon is by looking for salons that work with curly hair. 

Temporary Purple Hair Colour

The safest alternative to dying your hair purple is by using a purple temporary hair colour!

You can always go to your fav drugstore and grab a box of temporary (or semi-permanent) purple hair dye, but a safe bet is coloured hair wax (AKA hair paint). Since coloured hair wax was trending in the past couple years (and still going with some curly hair influencers), you might still be able to grab purple hair wax safe enough for natural hair. 

Temporary Purple Hair Spray

The other way to do this is by using a purple hair spray! I've definitely tried hair sprays in the past however it can be a little messy. If you're looking to try this out, check out this youtube video.

Wear a Purple Hair Wig

Now this is probably the easiest and safest way to get purple hair: wearing a wig! If you're looking for a quick fix, jump on Amazon and grab a cheap purple hair wig. But if you're going for luxury, search on Instagram or TikTok for purple hair wigs.
